University of South Alabama
When the University of South Alabama College of Medicine faced the challenge of installing a new state-of-the-art (modular and flexible) biomedical research laboratory in an existing building, they opted for Hamilton's MAX/Wall Technical Wall System and MAX/Lab Adaptable Furniture System to accomplish the project goals across the board. The narrow 6-inch footprint of MAX/Wall, which duplicates the width of standard drywall, allowed the new lab to fit the space available in the existing university building; the dimensions of which had been determined by traditional construction. And, since the MAX/Wall technical wall system—which provides core chases for organizing and distributing electronic, electrical, gas and other plumbed services—is compatible with the entire line of MAX/Lab modular components (shelves, table frames, mobile tables, cabinets, and many others), the lab responds to the University's need to assure adaptability well into the future. The facility's 22 self-sustained 20' X 24' full lab modules can be easily reconfigured when staff, projects, procedures, equipment or plans change. Removable access panels provide easy entry for utility maintenance, repair and reconfiguration. | ||||||||||||||||||||
